Ice skating with the kids - would have been more fun but Garrett and Kenz both stayed up too late tonight and have been loaded for bear all day. Garrett was throwing snow at everyone one and just annoying. I continue to wait for him to mature enough to leave others alone. It wears me out. And the more I try to not raise my voice, the more obstinate he gets.
I continue to think that parenting it the hardest job, ever.

I find that I am a little disappointed this evening. My new soccer team, the Natural Disasters, had practice scheduled this evening at the Terra Nova tennis courts. The weather had other plans. Oh well.
So about the soccer team - we are the Natural Disasters, but for the winter Futsal league, we divided into two teams. The first is called the Tsunami and the second is the Earthquakes. I started out thinking to have one team with 9-10 people. It ended up that we had to turn away 6 women. People are so excited to play, and I think we will register for the spring outdoor league.
A dear friend has volunteered to coach and train us and he is fantastic. I haven't been this excited about something new in a long time. What a great workout it is too. Much fun.
As for my most recent project, I am knitting a shawl, in an L shape. It is made from this gorgeous yarn I purchased in Madison, WI. More later on how much I love Madison. However, I am about 4/5's finished and trying to finish before I leave for SC on Wednesday. Head down.

Slogging through
Monday started off with a nice walk this morning with Karen and Paul. A little too dark so I need to remember my headlamp if I walk on the beach trail.
This evening was a bit trying on the homefront. Kids were wonderful, as usual, but SO proved very trying.
My planning for my Girl Scouts get away continues. I am so excited to be taking them to Pt. Reyes Hostel and Marin Headlands in a few weeks. It should be a blast as they are the best. We have planned our menus and activities, and now will need to put together our shopping lists.

The start of the journey, looking forward
Hmm! This may be a great way to end the year or start a year. Not sure but looks like I am getting started blogging at the end of the year. Motivated by a dear friend, we will see if it ever turns into more than musings, but for now, here we go.
Up this morning for a very early walk with Karen and Paul. After a 3 week hiatus related to the cold, rain and holidays, it felt great to get out and walk. I really need to get back in the swing of things since the holidays have left me with an added pound or two. Weight watchers has meant a loss of 18 pounds, but it has been very slow. Hoping to amp things up a little.
Had soccer practice yesterday. It was a small group but great fun. This is truly one of the most fun activities I have participated in. Now I know why the kids love it so.
Time to head off to work. Should be a relatively quiet week with an opportunity to make some progress on the backlog of projects.
